Small, brownish-red and packed with nutrients with a mild and sweet, nutty taste – adzuki beans are a real favourite in countries like Japan and other parts of Asia.
Full of antioxidants and packed with protein, adzuki beans are often cooked, puréed and sweetened to make a paste that can be used as a filling in sweet treats, added to soups and mixed with rice as a tasty side dish. They also contain high levels of potassium, B vitamins and fibre, making them a great added-extra to mix in with a rejuvenating salad or a healthy stir-fry.
